在近日举办的英特第十五届外语节TED外文演讲比赛中,初三组的选手们围绕“A past to remember, a present to celebrate, a future to generate”这个主题侃侃而谈,各抒己见。

When my English teacher first suggested that I do this speech, my initial reaction was to tell her, "No way I'm doing that! It's way too nerve-racking!" Because standing on stage and facing so many people, including teachers, I was sure that no matter how long I practiced, my words would come out all jumbled. But deep inside, I knew that was no excuse. I also knew that I needed to step outside my comfort zone for once. So, I said yes instead. The work it took was actually easier than I anticipated, though the actual speech is just as hard. Many people tell me that if I'm nervous on stage, I should imagine I'm telling it to a close friend. Sometimes it works, but most of the time, I'm too nervous to even imagine things. So when that happens, I find the best way is to just face the situation: you're standing alone on the stage, there are hundreds of people watching you. So what's the worst thing that can happen? You don't say a word and you leave. What's the best that can happen? Everything goes without a hitch, and everyone enjoys themselves. As the old saying goes, "Leap and the net will appear." Sometimes we don't actually take the leap, and that's why things go wrong. Sometimes we think of ourselves too much (like how it might be so embarrassing) and forget why we actually do it in the first place: to tell people important things they need to know or to make them smile.Remember it, and you'll be fine.

I am incredibly honored to receive this award, and I would like to thank the organizers and examiners for recognizing my efforts. This recognition means a lot to me, and it serves as a reminder that hard work and dedication do pay off.I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has supported me along the way, especially my English teacher Jessica who has believed in me and encouraged me to pursue my dreams. Without her support, I would not have such an award today. When I first started writing my text, I never imagined I would be rewarded. I firmly believe that passion, perseverance, and hard work can lead to extraordinary results. I will cherish the award and use it as motivation to encourage myself and continue my English learning.
