Entel Educators Attended China-Japan Education Forum along with Peking University, The University of Tokyo, Waseda University

On November 13, the 10th China-Japan Education Exchange Conference was successfully held at the International Conference Center of the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) in Tokyo. Zou Hailian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Principal of our school, and Japanese language teacher Sun Jiaying were invited to attend.

The conference, themed “New Thinking and New Scenarios for China-Japan Educational Exchange and Cooperation in the New Era”, brought together representatives from over 80 Chinese institutions (including universities, vocational colleges, and high schools such as Peking University and Dalian University of Technology) and 120 Japanese institutions (including The University of Tokyo, Waseda University, enterprises, and high schools).

At the “China-Japan Basic Education Sub-Forum”, school representatives from both countries engaged in in-depth discussions on “Future-Oriented Cooperation in the Field of Basic Education”, reaching consensus on:

· Actively developing high-quality further education pathways for Chinese secondary and higher education institutions;

· Expanding mutual visits, collaborations, and exchanges between Chinese and Japanese schools;

· Providing students with comprehensive further education pathways, specialized program options, and tailored solutions.

Zou Hailian, as one of the Chinese representatives, delivered a comprehensive introduction to Entel’s educational model, diverse further education directions, and achievements in Sino-Japanese programs to attending school leaders and representatives from various sectors. This laid the foundation for subsequent visits to Japanese secondary schools.

A memorable speech was given by Zhang Yansong, Principal of Yokohama Yamate Chinese School, an institution founded under Sun Yat-sen’s philosophy of “Saving the Nation Through Education”. To this day, the school remains dedicated to patriotic education for overseas Chinese in Japan:

· Students perform traditional lion dances in Chinatown;

· Teachers and students jointly make dumplings, including a Guinness World Record attempt where they formed the school’s name with dumplings;

These initiatives vividly reflect Principal Zhang’s patriotic ethos.

Principal Zou and Teacher Sun also visited Tachikawa International School with the delegation. This 12-year integrated school offers:

· Multilingual education starting from elementary school, alongside studies of global cultures;

· A library stocked with books in multiple languages;

· Flexible curriculum choices and international exchange programs for secondary students, aligning closely with Entel’s multilingual education and cross-cultural exchange philosophy.

Following the conference, Principal Zou and Teacher Sun visited Mingshi Ambition Academy, a preparatory institution, to inquire about the academic progress and feedback from graduates of the 2024 Japanese Specialty Experimental Class currently studying in Japan. Alumni expressed deep nostalgia for their time at Entel, emphasizing how their Entel education laid a solid foundation for adapting to academic life in Japan.

Entel’s Bilingual Department will use this exchange as an opportunity to contribute to the internationalization of education and cultivate more cross-cultural talents.
