An Invitation to Write: Editors Bring the Craft of Words to Campus

On October 9, editors from Zhongxuesheng Zazhi (Middle School Student Magazine) visited Hangzhou Entel Foreign Language School. They met with 20 student representatives from grades 7–8, offering detailed guidance on the magazine’s columns, content positioning, and submission process. In the afternoon, editor He Chenxi introduced the “Creative Writing” special feature and the “Dual Voices” column — a signature program where teacher and student read the same book and each write an analytical piece, with the teacher offering guidance on background, artistic achievement, and style, while the student writes a personal response, forming a unique depth of dialogue. Deputy editor Zhu Shiqi then introduced the “Non-Fiction: Stories of My Family” special topic, encouraging students to write true, touching family narratives that celebrate diligence, loyalty, kindness, and family values. Teacher Wang Xiaobo shared how long-term writing shapes teachers’ growth, and urged colleagues to write educational narratives — from Flower Festival outings and kite-flying on the field to moon-viewing poetry under the bell tower — reinforcing Entel’s cultural DNA of independence, free thought, and warm humanistic spirit. The visit ignited fresh enthusiasm for reading and writing across the school.
